Future Pass Membership Terms & Conditions
Future Forest Music & Arts Festival Inc.
Version 2.0 | Effective June 24, 2026
Future Forest gathers on the traditional and unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik people, beside the river Nem-Dit-Qu. We are grateful to gather and work on this land, and we ask everyone to care for it and treat it with respect.
Summary (for convenience only)
- The Future Pass is a lifetime membership, for the life of the Future Pass program, linked to your account and a digital member ID and QR code.
- You do not need a Future Pass to buy tickets or to attend Future Forest. It is a membership program with benefits that currently include discounts to our seasonal events and a Future Pass express entrance lane at the festival.
- A valid Future Pass is required to apply in some streams and to accept an offer in others. Music applicants need a Future Pass to apply. Visual Art, Art Installation, Workshop and Yoga, Performance Art, and WEX applicants need a Future Pass to accept an offer if they are selected. Vendors do not need a Future Pass.
- Benefits may change over time, vary by event, and are subject to availability and event-specific rules. Membership does not guarantee selection, a role, entry to any event, or any specific benefit.
- Membership privileges can be paused or revoked for misconduct or misuse, including breaches of our Code of Conduct and other Festival Policies.
This Summary is provided for convenience and is not part of the legal Terms. In the event of any inconsistency, the Terms below control.
Acceptance of these Terms
These Future Pass Membership Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your purchase, receipt, and use of the Future Pass membership program (“Future Pass”). By purchasing, accepting, or using a Future Pass on or after the Effective Date, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase or use a Future Pass.
Existing members
If you purchased a Future Pass before the Effective Date, these updated Terms apply to your continued membership, and we ask you to accept them by July 15, 2026. We will notify you and provide a simple way to accept. If you have not accepted by July 15, 2026, we will pause your Future Pass, after we have given you that notice, until you accept. A pause is temporary. Accepting at any later time reactivates your membership in full. A pause does not end your membership, is not a forfeiture, and no refund is owed for any period during which your Future Pass is paused.
1. Definitions
“Future Forest, we, us, our” Future Forest Music & Arts Festival Inc. and its authorized representatives.
“Future Pass” the lifetime membership product sold through store.futureforest.ca, including the associated digital membership identifier and QR code.
“Member, you, your” the individual account holder who purchased or was issued a Future Pass.
“Account” your user account on store.futureforest.ca used to purchase and access membership features, including your Future Pass QR code.
“Lifetime, lifetime membership” a membership for the life of the Future Pass program. Your membership continues for as long as Future Forest operates the Future Pass program. If Future Forest discontinues the program, memberships end at that time, and no refund is owed, because the membership will have run for the full life of the program. A Future Pass may also be paused or revoked as described in these Terms.
“Benefits” the perks, discounts, access features, and member-focused features offered to Members from time to time.
“Festival Policies” the policies published by Future Forest, including where applicable our Code of Conduct, the Future Forest event Terms and Conditions, harm reduction resources, reporting processes, application rules, and role-specific requirements, as updated from time to time.
“Misconduct” behaviour that violates Festival Policies or applicable law, or that creates a safety, security, operational, or reputational risk, as further described in Section 10.
2. Relationship to event tickets, attendance, and other policies
Future Pass is a membership program and does not, by itself, provide admission to any event. You must still purchase and present the required ticket or credential for entry, unless Future Forest states otherwise.
When you attend any Future Forest event, your attendance and participation are also governed by that event’s Terms and Conditions, Code of Conduct, any liability waiver, venue rules for off-site or partnered events, and any other policies communicated for that event.
If there is a conflict between these membership Terms and event-specific terms presented for a particular event or opportunity, the event-specific terms govern for that event or opportunity.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection, human rights, occupational health and safety, or other laws that cannot be waived or restricted by contract, including any such rights that come into force in the future.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a Future Pass or to create or hold an Account on store.futureforest.ca. We may request proof of age and identity at any time to verify eligibility, to prevent fraud, and to protect community safety.
Future Forest events may have additional age requirements. For example, certain partnered or off-site events may be 19+. A Future Pass does not override age restrictions, identification requirements, or venue policies.
4. Purchase, pricing, and taxes
Future Pass is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, unless stated otherwise at checkout. The price is shown at the time of purchase and may change without notice for future purchasers.
All prices are subject to applicable taxes and fees as displayed at checkout.
We may limit purchases to one Future Pass per Account, and we may require that the membership be held by the Account holder.
5. Refunds and chargebacks
Except where the law requires otherwise, a Future Pass is non-refundable once it is processed or activated, because it is delivered digitally and may immediately enable access to Benefits.
If you believe you were charged in error, for example a duplicate purchase, contact us promptly. At our discretion, we may correct an obvious billing error by issuing a refund or credit.
Because a Future Pass is a membership for the life of the program (Section 1), if Future Forest discontinues the Future Pass program, memberships end at that time and no refund is owed.
If your Future Pass is paused, or if you decline updated Terms, no refund is owed, because this reflects your own choice not to accept rather than Future Forest discontinuing the program.
Chargebacks made in bad faith, or in a manner inconsistent with these Terms, may be treated as misuse and may result in the pause or revocation of membership privileges.
6. Term, non-transferability, and verification
Future Pass is a lifetime membership for the life of the program, as defined in Section 1. It is a revocable licence to take part in the membership program and to receive Benefits. It is not a property right.
Future Pass is non-transferable. You may not sell, barter, gift, loan, or otherwise transfer your membership, QR code, or related Benefits to another person.
We may require proof that the person accessing a Benefit is the Member, for example matching government-issued photo identification. If we reasonably believe a Future Pass is being shared, duplicated, or used by someone other than the Member, we may suspend Benefits pending verification.
7. Digital membership ID and account security
Future Pass is administered digitally. You can access and save your Future Pass QR code through your Account.
You are responsible for safeguarding your Account credentials and QR code, and for all activity under your Account. If you believe your Account has been compromised, notify us as soon as possible.
We may deactivate, rotate, or reissue a QR code if we reasonably believe it has been copied, shared, misused, or compromised.
8. Your membership and its benefits
Future Pass is a membership in Future Forest. It carries member benefits, and, because it is linked to your verified identity, it supports accountability across Future Forest activities: a Member who breaches our Code of Conduct or other Festival Policies can have their ability to take part removed, within the parameters set out in these Terms.
Member benefits currently include:
- discounts to Future Forest seasonal events;
- a Future Pass express entrance lane at the festival for faster entry;
- eligibility to apply to Future Forest opportunities, such as music, art, performance art, and WEX;
- a ticket discount for non-selected artists, who can reapply each year; and
- a digital membership ID with a QR code.
Benefits may change over time, vary by event, and are subject to availability and event-specific rules. We may add, remove, limit, or modify Benefits at any time to support safety, fairness, and operational needs. Membership does not guarantee selection, a role, entry to any event, or the availability of any specific Benefit.
9. Applications and participation
Whether a valid Future Pass is required, and at what stage, depends on the application stream:
- To apply (Music): a valid Future Pass is required to submit a Music application.
- To accept an offer (Visual Art, Art Installation, Workshop and Yoga, Performance Art, and WEX): a valid Future Pass is not required to apply, but a successful applicant must hold a valid Future Pass to accept an offer and take part.
- Vendors: vendors do not require a Future Pass to apply or to take part.
A Future Pass does not guarantee selection as an artist, performer, volunteer, or other contributor. Selection decisions are made using the criteria and processes described in the relevant application stream.
For safety and duty-of-care reasons, Future Forest may require additional screening, training, orientation, certifications, credentials, or agreements for certain roles, for example roles involving driving, food handling, work at height, equipment operation, cash handling, or positions of trust.
Future Forest may decline, pause, or remove a participant from a role or opportunity if requirements are not met, if safety risks are identified, or if conduct does not align with Festival Policies.
10. Member conduct, misconduct, and enforcement
Members must uphold Future Forest’s community standards in all Festival-related activities, including online spaces, applications, staff and volunteer areas, artist and vendor areas, and the public-facing festival site.
Members must comply with Festival Policies and all applicable laws, and must follow reasonable directions from authorized staff, Safety teams, harm reduction teams, or security.
Misconduct may include, without limitation:
- harassment, discrimination, hate speech, stalking, bullying, intimidation, or violence;
- sexual misconduct or non-consensual behaviour, and retaliation against reporters or witnesses;
- theft, fraud, vandalism, property damage, or tampering with festival infrastructure or safety equipment;
- unsafe behaviour that puts others at risk, for example weapon possession, unauthorized fires, dangerous driving, or ignoring safety barriers or restricted areas;
- misuse of the Future Pass program, for example sharing, selling, or duplicating your QR code, using another person’s membership, or abusing discounts or benefits; and
- conduct that results, or could reasonably result, in removal from an event, a ban, or the involvement of law enforcement or emergency services.
Where appropriate, Future Forest may take enforcement action, including warnings, behavioural agreements, pausing Benefits, revoking Benefits, removal from site, cancellation of participation, bans from future events, and referral to law enforcement or other authorities, depending on severity.
Future Forest acts in good faith, with the goal of protecting safety and fairness, and may act immediately where an urgent risk is identified. Where practical, we will give the Member notice and an opportunity to respond. Some situations may require immediate action before a full review.
Review or appeal. If your membership privileges are paused or revoked, you may request a review by contacting us. We may require supporting information and may set reasonable time limits for review requests.
11. Complimentary Future Pass program
From time to time, Future Forest offers a complimentary Future Pass as a special program under the New Brunswick Human Rights Act. The purpose of the program is ameliorative: to reduce barriers and broaden participation for equity-deserving artists. The program is open to BIPOC individuals and to people of underrepresented genders, in the individual application categories. Eligibility and verification are as published on the relevant application page.
Future Forest may modify, pause, or discontinue the complimentary program at any time based on capacity, funding, operational needs, or policy updates.
12. Reporting and support
If you witness or experience harassment, assault, or a safety concern, please report it as soon as possible using the channels available to you.
On-site reporting options may include Safety, Consent Kitties, Stay Well, First Aid, Security, or any staff member. Availability may vary by event.
Future Forest has partnered with REES (Respect, Educate, Empower Survivors) to provide a secure and confidential way to report harassment, assault, or misconduct related to the festival.
Future Forest Safety Hotline: 1 (506) 560-HELP (4357). The hotline is monitored during the festival period in August.
Reporting email (harm reduction and safety): hrsrm@futureforest.ca.
Reports made in good faith, even if not substantiated, will not result in retaliation or penalties against the reporter. False or malicious reports are prohibited.
13. Privacy and data
Future Forest collects and uses personal information through store.futureforest.ca in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website. The Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, including for security and compliance, how we share it, and how to exercise your privacy rights.
Administering your membership includes creating and storing a unique membership identifier and recording your membership status and program usage, for example discounts applied or applications submitted.
We share information with service providers, such as payment processors and other providers, as needed to operate the site and the program, and with authorities where required by law, as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Communications
We may send you transactional communications related to your Account, membership, applications, or purchases, for example confirmations, policy updates, and safety notices.
We send marketing communications, such as newsletters and offers, only where you have opted in. You can opt out of marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link, where provided, or by contacting us. You may still receive essential transactional or safety communications.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect operational, safety, legal, or community needs. When we do, we post the updated Terms with a new effective date.
For material changes, we provide advance notice through your Account or by email. Minor changes, or changes required by law, take effect when they are posted.
If we make a material change and you do not wish to accept it, contact us. The pause described in the Acceptance section applies: a pause is temporary, and your membership reactivates when you accept. Where Future Forest discontinues the program, Section 5 applies.
For Members who purchased before the Effective Date of these Terms, these Terms govern continued use of the Future Pass from the Effective Date, and acceptance is handled as described in the Acceptance section.
16. Assignment and business transfer
Future Forest may assign or transfer the Future Pass program and these Terms to an affiliate or successor operator, including as part of a reorganization or a transfer of the program to a not-for-profit operating entity. Your membership continues on these Terms with the successor operator.
As part of such a transfer, Future Forest may transfer member personal information to the successor operator, subject to the safeguards described in our Privacy Policy.
17. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Benefits are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to online systems, QR code services, or any specific Benefit.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Future Forest is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your membership or your inability to access Benefits.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
18. General terms
- Severability. if any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision is severed and the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
- Entire agreement. these Terms, together with the Festival Policies and the other documents they reference, are the entire agreement between you and Future Forest regarding the Future Pass, and they replace any prior understanding on that subject.
- Force majeure. Future Forest is not responsible for any failure or delay in performing under these Terms that is caused by events beyond its reasonable control. This provision operates alongside the force majeure and frustrated-contract provisions in the Future Forest event Terms and Conditions.
- Complaints and disputes. if you have a concern, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it. Nothing in these Terms requires you to take a dispute to mandatory arbitration, and nothing waives any right you may have to take part in a class proceeding.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
